Two Metro Moncton music educators chosen for prestigious award

Two Metro Moncton music educators have been chosen to receive the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra’s Lieutenant Governor’s Award.

Michel Deschênes, professor at the music department of the Université de Moncton, and Leanne Delaney, mentor and music teacher in the Anglophone East School District, have been cited for outstanding contributions to their field.

Youth orchestra to perform Myles’ recent hits alongside the singer-songwriter on March 22

The New Brunswick Youth Orchestra will find its “inner ninja” next month in Moncton.

The group of about 75 highly talented musicians will team up with Juno-award winning singer-songwriter David Myles in the NBYO’s annual fundraising concert on March 22 at the Moncton Wesleyan Celebration Centre.

CAMPBELLTON – Fewer than 500 people took advantage of a cultural event in Campbellton 20 years in the making.

On Jan. 12, the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra performed at the Restigouche Theatre for the first time in Restigouche in close to 20 years. While the event was much-publicized, the weather of Jan. 11 likely had much to do with the turnout at the two-hour show.
